Ferndale fights back to win in four over Nooksack Valley

The Ferndale volleyball team defeated Nooksack Valley 22-25, 25-11, 25-12, 25-21 on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Ferndale High School.

"The first game, we started really strong, which was our goal," Ferndale coach Patti Hoelzle said in a phone interview. "Then we made some errors and Nooksack came out strong."

The Golden Eagles responded by winning the next three sets, and particularly the next two in convincing fashion.

"They really responded and took care of the ball," Hoelzle said.

Brooke Benson had eight kills and four blocks while Hannah Pitsch led Ferndale with 10 kills.

"They were making really smart choices on where to hit the ball," Hoelzle said.
