Mariners No. 6, Lyncs No. 5 in newest volleyball rankings


Both the Sehome and Lynden Christian volleyball teams advanced one spot in the weekly High School Volleyball Coaches Rankings.

The Mariners (7-0, 5-0) ascended from No. 7 to No. 6 in Class 2A, while the Lyncs (5-1, 4-1) jumped to No. 5 in the Class 1A rankings.

Sehome beat Mount Baker and Ferndale in straight sets last week, and Lynden Christian beat Anacortes and lost to Burlington-Edison. The Tigers are the No.1-ranked team in 2A.

Rankings are selected by the Washington State Volleyball Coaches Association.
