DuBois, Gillman propel Bellingham past Anacortes


The Bellingham girls' swim team defeated Anacortes 110-73 on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Arne Hanna Acquatic Center.

Yvonne DuBois had a particularly strong meet for the Red Raiders, winning the 100 breastroke and being a part of Bellingham's 200 freestyle relay win.

"She did well in her 100 breastroke (race)," Bellingham coach Jeff Anderson said in a phone interview. "Yvonne is doing really well."

Maddie Gillman also had a strong meet for Bellingham, winning the 200 freestyle and 50 freestyle individual races while also being a part of the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay wins. Gillman recorded a state-qualifying time in the 200 freestyle.

"The girls keep improving," Anderson said. "We had 37 best times."
