PSE offering free refrigerators to replace pre-1993 models

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDOctober 8, 2013

Puget Sound Energy is offering free refrigerators to customers who own old units, as long as supplies last.

Old refrigerators must be manufactured in or before 1992 and be in working condition, be 10 to 30 cubic feet, serve as primary food storage and be plugged into a three-prong outlet.

Customers who meet the qualifications can apply to PSE to have the utility pick up that refrigerator and replace it with a new energy-saving Frigidaire model. The new models are basic white, single-door models with a top freezer. They could save customers more than $200 a year in energy costs over the old models, according to PSE.

To figure out your appliance year, check the inside of the door or the back for a label.

To apply or learn more, call 1-877-341-2314 during business hours Monday through Friday or go to pse.com/myfreefridge.
