Meridian and LC each slip one spot in 1A boys' poll

The Meridian and Lynden Christian boys' cross country teams each slipped one spot in the Class 1A Washington state Cross Country Coaches' Poll this week, but they were the only Whatcom County teams to show any movement.

The Trojans now check in at No. 6, while the Lyncs are No. 8 behind top-ranked Medical Lake.

On the girls' side, Mount Baker was ranked No. 4 in the 1A poll behind top-ranked Lakeside. Northwest District rivals South Whidbey (No. 5), Lynden Christian (No. 6) and King's (No. 7) follow, with Meridian remaining at No. 10 and Nooksack Valley continuing to be listed among the others receiving votes.

Sehome also stayed atop both Northwest District-dominated 2A polls. The Mariners are followed by Lakewood (No. 2), Cedarcrest (No. 3), Squalicum (No. 4) and Bellingham (No. 5) in the boys' poll, while No. 2 Burlington-Edison, No. 3 Bellingham, No. 4 Cedarcrest and No. 6 Lakewood follow Sehome on the girls' side.

The Gig Harbor boys and Bellarmine Prep girls remain atop the 4A polls, while the North Central boys and Glacier Peak girls continue to hold the top spots in 3A. Colbert Northwest Christian replaced Tri-Cities Prep at No. 1 in the 1B boys' poll, while Lacey Northwest Christian was the new No. 1 in the 1B girls' poll.
