Coach's quote: "Josephine swims each workout with as much purpose and effort as she does competing at meets. I can always count on Josephine to be that role model that all coaches hope for. I believe this year will prove to be a great way to end her high school career on a high note with many personal best times." - Steve Gibb

What he did: For the second time in four weeks, Mendoza led the Lions in defensive points - points awarded for tackles, assists, pass breakups, etc. - in the Lions' 21-7 victory over Sedro-Woolley on Sept. 27. Mendoza is doing that from the safety position, as he is third on the team in tackles.
Coach's quote: "As a first year starter, Rudy has exceeded early-season expectations. He's playing the position like he's a three-year starter. He's had a major impact on all four games this season, and we are so proud of him." - assistant coach Blake VanDalen
