Sehome volleyball overcomes slow start in sweep of Mount Baker


Taylor Lyall had six aces for Sehome volleyball, as the Mariners defeated Mount Baker 25-20, 25-11, 25-14 on Thursday, Oct. 3, at Sehome. Lyall also had 10 kills for the Mariners.

"We came out pretty slow and Mount Baker was hungry for a win," Sehome coach Kristy White said in a phone interview. "We played some sloppy volleyball in the first set, Mount Baker did a good job setting up their offense in the first set. In the second and third sets we got were able to get in a rhythm (on offense)."

Erika Smith had eight kills and no errors for Sehome, and Megan Greer added 24 assists.

Sehome's next match is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at home against Bellingham. Mount Baker plays next at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Lynden.
