Squalicum volleyball holds off Bellingham

Squalicum volleyball defeated Bellingham 25-8, 25-14, 25-23 on Thursday, Oct. 3, at Bellingham. The Storm were led by Meghan Lowry's 10 kills.

Bellingham's Anna Zeegers led the Red Raiders with six blocks and 19 digs, and Izzi Roberts pitched in five kills. Squalicum's Tirsa Randall-Grutter had 24 assists, and Kayla Chang added 18 digs for the Storm.

"We just turned it on a little bit too late tonight," Bellingham coach Kim Bjorklund said in a phone interview. "They did a good job of just giving the ball back to us, and we had some unforced errors."

Bellingham's next match is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Sehome. Squalicum plays next at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at home against Sedro-Woolley.
