Steele, Baker lead Bellingham past Blaine 6-1

The Bellingham girls' soccer team defeated Blaine 6-1 on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Pipeline Fields.

Brooke Baker started the Red Raiders' scoring off with an unassisted goal in the eighth minute. Blaine's Ashley Quesada evened the match up at 1-1 in the 20th minute, but the tie wasn't long lasting as Cashel Vincent gave Bellingham a 2-1 lead after scoring in the 32nd minute off an assist by Mary Dyrland.

"Both teams came out hard, but right from the get go, Bellingham was playing solid," Blaine coach Kelly Tuski said in a phone interview.

Kendra Steele scored twice in the second half as Bellingham pulled away for the win. Baker also added her second goal of the game in the second half.

"Steele is one to watch," Tuski said. "She is really good ... and all over the field."
