Whatcom Symphony Orchestra's debut concert with new music director Yaniv Attar is at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at Mount Baker Theatre, 104 N. Commercial St.

The program includes J. Strauss II's "Die Fledermaus" overture; Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet;" Brahms' Hungarian Dances 5 and 6; and Dvorák's Symphony No. 8.

Tickets, $12, $28 and $32, can be reserved at 360-734-6080 or mountbakertheatre.com.

People who buy an adult ticket can get a free ticket for a youth age 12 to 17.

Students who bring their student ID the day of the concert can buy any remaining seat for $12.

Ed Rutschman gives a free concert lecture one hour before the concert in the theater's Encore Room. Details: whatcomsymphony.com.
