Sehome girls' cross country finished third with 112 points in the Mountain West Classic on Saturday, Sept. 28, at University of Montana Golf Course in Missoula, Mont. Makena Morley of Big Fork won the race with a time of 16 minutes, 43 seconds, and Bozeman won the meet with 47 points.
The Mariners' Ruby Watson finished fourth overall with a time of 17:50. Emily Pittis was Sehome's second runner at 18:10, and Ellie Rowan-Arnett followed at 18:29.
"The girls ran really well. (To get third) in a big meet with two of the other best teams in the region was great," Sehome coach Kevin Ryan said in a phone interview. "Our freshmen, (Watson and Rowan-Arnett), ran extremely well in their first big meet."
Zanna Sullivan was fourth for Sehome at 19:00, and teammate Jessa Clark was fifth with a time of 19:29. Dana Ringler took sixth on the team with a time of 19:46, and Aili Emory rounded out the Mariners top seven at 19:56.
Sehome's next meet is at 3:15 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, at Cedarcrest for the Twilight Invite.
