The Whatcom Community College's women's soccer team defeated Treasure Valley Community College 4-0 on Friday, Sept. 27, at Whatcom.

Kim Kishimoto got the Orcas going with a goal in the eighth minute off an assist from Kate Bachenberg. Kylie Garrison connected with Bailey Butcher in the 53rd minute to give Whatcom a commanding 2-0 lead.

"It was a great overall effort by our team," Whatcom coach Claire Morgan said in a phone interview. "I was really happy we were able to put the ball in the back of the net."

Samantha Logan and Kaya Jones rounded out the Orcas' scoring with goals in the 55th and 70th minutes, respectively.

As a team, Whatcom's defense only allowed a single shot on goal, rarely allowing Treasure Valley to escape their half of the field.

"Overall, I was happy with how we played defense," Morgan said.
