Ferndale council candidates to appear at forum

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDSeptember 27, 2013

FERNDALE - City Council candidates will square off at a forum on Thursday, Oct. 3.

The free, public event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at Ferndale High School, 5830 Golden Eagle Drive.

Three council seats are up for election on Nov. 5. Incumbent Brent Goodrich faces challenger Stacy Miller, who works for the Whatcom Domestic Violence Commission. Jon Mutchler, incumbent, is challenged by Robert Hakim, who works in film production. The third race is between two newcomers: Carol Bersch, owner of Carol's Cake Designs on Main Street, and Eric Kelton, who works for Ershigs in Bellingham.

All six are confirmed for the forum, according to the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce. The chamber is hosting the event with the Ferndale Record.
