Applications being accepted for Food to Bank On program

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDSeptember 27, 2013

New farmers in Whatcom County have until Oct. 15 to apply for Bellingham-based Sustainable Connections' Food to Bank On program, which connects beginning sustainable farmers with business training, markets and mentorship.

Up to three spots are available for the three-year project, which also pays farmers to provide farm-fresh product to those in need.

Last year, Food to Bank On farms delivered produce and meat worth more than $9,000 to area food banks, soup kitchens, shelters and social service agencies.

To apply, go online to sustainableconnections.org/foodfarming/FTBO.
