Ferndale girls' soccer defeated Sedro-Woolley 4-0 on Thursday, Sept. 26, at Sedro-Woolley. Jillian Monson and Ali Gonzalez each had a goal and an assist for the Golden Eagles.

"It was Jillian's birthday today, so it was her night to shine and she sure did," Ferndale coach Joe Gonzalez said in a phone interview. "After the tough loss against Burlington-Edison, the girls realized they have to show up and play as a team and enjoy it."

Linsey Honeycutt got the shutout for Ferndale with 12 saves for the night. The back line of defense was solid all night and made the shutout a little easier for Honeycutt, Gonzalez said.

Ferndale's next match is at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at home against Sehome.
