Blaine volleyball shows improvement in loss at Anacortes

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDSeptember 27, 2013

Anacortes volleyball defeated Blaine 26-24, 25-18, 25-13 on Thursday, Sept. 26, at Anacortes. The Borderites were led by Kjirsten Larson's five aces.

"We started the game off fired up and played well," Blaine coach Bryan Clausen said in a phone interview. "Anacortes was just more experienced and it showed as the match wore on. Small errors started adding up and (the Borderites) just let it get to them. We've improved vastly each match this year."

Mandy Hayes added six blocks for Blaine, and teammate Chloe Foster had 10 digs. Mikayla Deming also had 10 kills for the Borderites.

Blaine's next match is 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at home when the Borderites host Bellingham.
