Aces help Ferndale volleyball sweep Sedro-Woolley

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDSeptember 27, 2013

Ferndale volleyball defeated Sedro-Woolley, 25-14, 25-13, 25-21 on Thursday, Sept. 26, at Sedro-Woolley. The Golden Eagles were led by Hannah Pitsch and Brooke Benson, who each had three aces.

"We had a really strong serving game. As a team we had 10 aces tonight," Ferndale coach Patti Hoelzle said in a phone interview.

Ferndale libero Tori Fox added 15 digs. Hoelzle said Sedro-Woolley had improved a lot since the two teams met on Sept. 17, and dealt with the Golden Eagles' aggressive hitting well this time around.

Ferndale's next match is at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, at home against Sehome.
