Squalicum swimming dominated Burlington-Edison

The Squalicum girls' swim team won every race against Burlington-Edison, topping the Tigers 129-41 on Thursday, Sept. 26, at Fidalgo Pool.

Abby VonFeldt won two singles races while being a part of two winning relay teams. Josephine Hegeberg also was victorious in two singles races.

"Abby and Josephine were the two that were really strong today," Squalicum assistant coach Randy Elsner said in a phone interview.

The win was an all-around team effort for the Storm, who saw contributions from unlikely swimmers.

"Our top girls did well, but really, some of those second-string girls were the ones that had the real drops (in times) today," Elsner said.
