Anacortes shuts out Blaine girls' soccer in close match

Anacortes defeated Blaine girls' soccer 2-0 on Thursday, Sept. 26, at Anacortes. Seahawks goalkeeper Tara Augustoni had four saves in the shutout.

"(Anacortes') keeper must have experience, she was very solid tonight," Blaine coach Kelly Tuski said in a phone interview.

Nicole McInerney and Louisa Crowe each scored for Anacortes. Rhiana Breedlove had five saves for the Borderites, and Fallon Puckett came in toward the end of the game to nab two more saves for Blaine.

"We had a good number of goal attempts," Tuski said. "Gretchen Kordas and Emily Roe were strong in the back. They contained Anacortes' best attackers well."

Blaine's next game is at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Pipeline Fields when the Borderites host Bellingham.
