No passes required at Washington state parks Saturday

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDSeptember 26, 2013

No passes will be required at Washington State Parks on Saturday, Sept. 28, as part of National Public Lands Day.

The Discover Pass - $30 annually or $10 daily - won't be needed at Larrabee, Birch Bay and Peace Arch state parks in Whatcom County on that day.

Subway restaurants are giving away $5 gift cards at some parks as part of the company's No Family Left Inside promotion. In Whatcom County, cards will be given to the first 100 people at the welcome center at Larrabee State Park starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The final 2013 state parks free days are scheduled for Nov. 9-11 during the Veterans Day weekend. For more information about state parks free days, go online to discoverpass.wa.gov/faq/#freedays.
