Brockmann selected to American Legion All-Academic team

Former Meridian and Bellingham Post 7 pitcher Jeremy Brockmann was slected to the nine-player 2013 Americian Legion Baseball All-Academic team last month.

The honor came with a $2,500 scholarship sponsored by Diamond Sports.

Players were initially nominated by the legion team's coach. Brockmann, who graduated from Meridian with a 3.93 grade-point average, was then selected the state winner and then the Northwest Region winner from Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming to make the team.

Brockmann recently began his studies at Centralia College, where he will continue to play baseball while majoring in Engineering.
