Lynden Christian boys' cross country takes fourth at seven-team meet

Thomas Swineford of Lynden finished fourth overall in a Northwest Conference boys' cross country meet Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Silver Lake Park, to lead the Lions to a fifth-place team finish. Swineford completed the 5K course in 17 minutes, 39.42 seconds, in the meet which also included Lynden Christian, Mount Baker, Nooksack Valley, Anacortes, Burlington-Edison and Sedro-Woolley.

Burlington-Edison's Wyatt Mullen won the race with a time of 16:43.34, and Anacortes' team won the meet with 36 points. Lynden Christian was fourth with 99 points, followed by Lynden at 132, Mount Baker at 151 and Nooksack Valley's total of 173.

Lynden Christian was led by Jon Wiley, who finished with a time of 18:52.44. Mount Baker's Shelby Miles paced the Mountaineers' team with a time of 18:41.87. Nooksack Valley was led by Jordan Hem's time of 20:00.43.

All four schools will attend the Mount Baker Invite at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, at Silver Lake Park.
