Ferndale volleyball falls to Burlington-Edison

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDSeptember 25, 2013

The Burlington-Edison volleyball team defeated Ferndale in straight sets, 25-21, 25-16, 25-18 on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Ferndale. The Golden Eagles were led by Taryn Potter's eight kills in the defeat.

"Taryn played with some passion tonight," Ferndale coach Patti Hoelzle said in a phone interview. "Brooke Benson also played with some intensity and tried to carry the team."

Ferndale was prepared to play the strong Burlington-Edison team, but Hoelzle said whenever they got ahead the Golden Eagles made some unforced errors that kept them down.

Ferndale's next match is at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, at Sedro-Woolley.
