Sehome sweeps Anacortes after third set comeback

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDSeptember 25, 2013

The Sehome volleyball team swept Anacortes 25-21, 25-11, 26-24 on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at Sehome.

Dani Johnson had 14 kills, five aces and no errors for the Mariners.

"We were able to get the nerves out in the first set and capitalized on knowing their tendencies after playing them last week," Sehome coach Kristy White said in a phone interview.

The Mariners were down 8-16 in the third set before coming back to complete the sweep.

"We've been giving away a lot of third sets, so I called timeout and we hunkered down and took it point by point," White said.

Sehome travels to Squalicum for a cross-town rivalry match at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26.
