Sehome's defense leads to 2-0 win over Anacortes

The Sehome girls' soccer team defeated Anacortes 2-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Civic Stadium.

Stefanie Mindnich scored the first goal of the game four minutes in off an assist from Ashley Mindnich.

"It was good to have that, although I would have liked to have a few more, but such is life," Sehome coach Andria Fountain said in a phone interview.

Marie Kochman scored Sehome's final goal in the 65th minute off an assist from Fiona Dawson.

On the night, the Mariners held Anacortes to just two shots on goal versus their eight.

"I thought the defense played well," Fountain said. "We've been working to get them to play together, and I am pretty happy with the performance."
