Mount Baker's girls' soccer team defeated Friday Harbor 1-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Friday Harbor.

Ivy Locke's unassisted goal in the 69th minute proved to be all the Mountaineers would need to pull out the win.

"They played through quite a bit of adversity today," Mount Baker coach Jason Jorgensen said in a phone interview. "Having to take the long bus ride and take the ferry ... it took a little bit in the first half to get their legs under them, but they pushed all the way to the end."

Jamie Johnson and the Mount Baker defense held Friday Harbor scoreless.

"They did a great job today," Jorgensen said.
