Ferndale falls to Burlington-Edison

Burlington-Edison defeated Ferndale in a girls' soccer match, 3-0, Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Ferndale. Evie Breckenridge had a pair of goals for Burlington-Edison as Ferndale lost another player to injury.

Nine minutes into the game, Ferndale forward Jordin Bartel went down with a leg injury. The Golden Eagles were already without Jillian Monson, who is out with a bone bruise.

"They didn't stop playing tonight and kept trying," Ferndale coach Joe Gonzalez said in a phone interview. "Kylie Larmer mixed in some great overlapping runs. ... Linsey Honeycutt had some great saves, I can't really put the blame on her."

Honeycutt finished with seven saves.

Ferndale's next match is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Sedro-Woolley.
