Hazlett scores twice in Squalicum's 5-0 win

The Squalicum girls' soccer team defeated Lynden 5-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Bender Fields.

The Storm's Gracie Slater scored the first goal of the game in the ninth minute. Kim Hazlett added another goal three minutes later to give Squalicum a 2-0 advantage.

"In the middle, (Squalicum) was able to connect passes and get the ball forward," Lynden coach Katie Yoder said in a phone interview.

Braeden Hilleary scored in the 36th minute, Hazlett added her second goal of the game a minute into the second half and Kim Dorr rounded out Squalicum's scoring for the afternoon with an unassisted goal in the 43rd minute.

Despite giving up five goals, Lynden's Emily Holt had 16 saves and played a really strong game, Yoder said.
