Squalicum boys' cross country wins South Whidbey Invite

Squalicum took first with 33 points at the South Whidbey Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 21, at South Whidbey. Sehome, Mount Baker, Nooksack Valley and Lynden also ran in the race, which Nathan Wadhwani from Terry Fox won with a time of 15 minutes, 55.69 seconds.

Squalicum was led by Chris Fredlund's time of 16:11.38, good for second overall in the race. Sehome was 10th with 308 points, led by freshman Matt Karcher at 18:14.38.

Mount Baker's Shelby Miles led the Mountaineers to 341 points, good for 12th, with a time of 17:29.69. Nooksack Valley was 17th with 410 points behind Conner Jones' time of 18:51.24. Lynden had 483 points for 19th place, led by Thomas Swineford's time of 18:03.08.

Sehome and Squalicum will race next at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Lake Padden Park. Lynden, Mount Baker and Nooksack Valley next race at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Silver Lake Park.
