The Whatcom Community College women's soccer team got good play around to rip Yakima Valley 6-0 in a Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges game on Friday afternoon, Sept. 20.

Bailey Butcher led the way with three goals for the visiting Orcas (3-1-1, 2-0-1 NWAACC), while Kylie Garrison scored two goals and Audrey McHugh had one. Megan O'Keefe picked up the shutout in net.

"We were able to possess the ball well," WCC coach Claire Morgan said in a phone interview. "Two of Bailey's goals were really nice, and Kylie had a nice header. Overall, we defended well, and we were able to convert, which is something we've been working on."

Morgan also praised the play of Eryn Mitchell at center back and midfielder's Sarah Taubenheim and Kate Bachenberg for their ability to distribute the ball to the forwards.

WCC next faces Spokane on Saturday, Sept. 21.
