Squalicum battles past Sedro-Woolley

The Squalicum boys' tennis team pulled out a 4-3 win over Sedro-Woolley on Friday, Sept. 20, at Sedro-Woolley.

The doubles pairing of Nesta Isakovic and Neal Crawford won convincingly in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1.

"They are playing (really) strong doubles right now," Squalicum coach Joe O'Brien said in a phone interview. "They are improving each and every match they are playing."

Drew Segren played in the most exciting match of the day, going to a tiebreaker in the first set and winning it 7-2. He then went on to win all six games in the second set.

"He just figured it out," O'Brien said. "He had a much better strategy in the second set."

Squalicum's next match is against Anacortes on Monday, Sept. 23, at Squalicum.
