History talk explores Bellingham's KVOS-TV

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDSeptember 21, 2013

BELLINGHAM - People interested in the history of KVOS-TV may want to attend an upcoming talk by University of Oregon professor Mary Erickson.

Her free talk on Thursday, Sept. 26, "Bordering an Industry: KVOS-TV and Canawest Film Productions in the Pacific Northwest," will look at those companies' role in producing audiovisual material in the 1960s and '70s.

Erickson's talk draws on archival collections of KVOS founder Rogan Jones and the KVOS television station, both housed at Western Washington University's Center for Pacific Northwest Studies.

Her one-hour talk starts at 4 p.m. in Special Collections, on the sixth floor of Wilson Library, on Western's campus.
