THE BELLINGHAM HERALDSeptember 20, 2013

Sehome girls' soccer defeated Sedro-Woolley 4-3 on Thursday, Sept. 19, at Sedro-Woolley. Kate Peterson led the Mariners with a goal and an assist.

"We had way more shots, and we were up 3-1 and I put my subs in," Sehome coach Andria Fountain said in a phone interview. "I think we had a lot of opportunities (offensively), but their goalkeeper had some nice saves."

Emily Webster also had a goal and an assist for Sehome. The Mariners were playing with a few injured starters, and had some players in as many as three different positions.

"I think they've responded well (to playing new positions)," Fountain said. "It's games like this that will help us in the long run by making players more versatile."

Sehome's next game is against Anacortes at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Civic Field.
