DNR lifts burn restrictions on department lands

September 18, 2013

The state Department of Natural Resources earlier Wednesday announced that the statewide burn ban on agency-protected lands has been lifted. The summer’s high fire danger has been reduced by the recent rainfall and moderating temperatures.

Restrictions set by local authorities are not affected by the department’s action. People are reminded to check with local authorities before burning. For local fire restrictions, go to http://fortress.wa.gov/dnr/firedanger/BurnRisk.aspx.
