The Ferndale volleyball team defeated Sedro-Woolley 25-13, 25-18, 25-8, on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Ferndale High School.
"It was our first home match, so we were excited to be there and show our fans what we are all about this year," Ferndale coach Patti Hoelzle said in a phone interview.
Hoelzle left the match excited about how her team played defensively, and how that led to a strong, aggressive offensive attack.
"We were working in practice on not letting any ball drop ... and getting aggressive plays from it," she said.
Ferndale's two outside hitters, sophomore Taryn Potter and freshman Whitney Walker, each had 10 kills in the match.
"We are really getting excited for our young kids' potential," Hoelzle said.
