Squalicum volleyball defeated Nooksack Valley 25-27, 25-20 and 25-19, Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Squalicum.
"I was really proud of the team," Squalicum coach Laurie Yearout said in a phone interview. "We had a lot of underclassmen step up and fill roles for us tonight, and they did a great job."
Yearout left the game incredibly impressed by her senior libero Kayla Chang.
"She was all over the court, and that was frustrating Nooksack," Yearout said.
Chang's play wasn't lost on Nooksack Valley's coach, either.
"We'd have a great kill and their libero would come out of nowhere and dig it," Nooksack Valley coach Katie Emmons said in a phone interview.
Nooksack Valley was led by Lindsay Hayes' 8 kills, Candace Rinehart's 7 kills and Mariah Perry's 22 digs.
