Burlington-Edison blanks Blaine

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDSeptember 18, 2013

Burlington-Edison girls' soccer shut out Blaine 5-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Burlington-Edison. Megan Wilburg had three goals for Burlington-Edison.

The Borderites' Rhiana Breedlove and Fallon Puckett combined for 13 saves. Blaine coach Kelly Tuski was pleased with her team's intensity, she said in a phone interview.

"We had moments of good possession and contained their skilled players," Tuski said. "It's tough to stop such skilled attackers."

Blaine had a hard time mounting any offense, as the Burlington-Edison offense was a lot to handle.

"We just took whatever offensive chances came to us," Tuski said of Blaine's seven shots on goal.

Blaine hosts Lynden Christian at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 19, at Pipeline Fields.
