THE BELLINGHAM HERALDSeptember 17, 2013

Coach: Darren Postma

Last year: Finished sixth at the Northwest Conference Championships. Placed second at the Class 1A Tri-District meet. Placed fifth at the Class 1A State Championships and had one runner place in the top 20.

Returning state participants: Jon Wiley (jr.), Connor Blok (sr.), Dylan Blok (sr.)

Others to watch: Josh Lingbloom (so.), Jack VanderGriend (fr.)

Outlook: The Lyncs lost their top four runners off last year's team. Wiley is LC's top returning state finisher from last year, as he placed 51st. "We have some unknown potential this year," Postma said. "Obviously, our goal is to get the team to state, but you never know what will happen there. It is such a tough tri-district. ... We're going to see if we can sneak in there with a pretty young team" A group of freshmen, led by VanderGriend could give LC a big boost toward that goal. "We have some very decent young talent coming up, so developing them for the future is another primary goal for us," Postma said.
