Backs mandatory minimum sentences

COURTESY TO THE BELLINGHAM HERALDSeptember 17, 2013

I believe there is high-level, politically motivated movement to reduced or eliminate the imposition of minimum sentences for convicted criminals. This ignores why the voting public demanded minimum sentences in the first places. For a quick review, refer to Montana District Judge G. Todd Baugh, his 31-day sentence for a convicted child rapist, even after the child he raped committed suicide. Ready to eliminate minimum sentences? I'm not.
