Fairhaven Art Block Party includes art, music, dancing, poetry

Fairhaven's the place to be Saturday, Sept. 21, when the inaugural Fairhaven Art Block party gets underway at 5 p.m. at Firehouse Performing Arts Center, 1314 Harris Ave., and at Lucia Douglas Gallery, 1415 13th St.

At the Firehouse, the Whatcom Poetry Series and Bellingham Repertory Dance present two special art venues - four southside artists in the cafe, and live model sketching in the theater - and an evening of dance, poetry, music, art and more, starting at 8 p.m. Suggested donation: $10.

Participants at Firehouse include Nancy Canyon, Prentiss Cole, Joy Olney, Chris Shreve, Tom Wood, Anita K. Boyle and Kevin Murphy.

"Postcards from Fairhaven," at Lucia Douglas Gallery, features work from more than 50 local artists.
