Jones, Murphy lead Pioneers in Seattle

Nooksack Valley cross country ran in the UW Sundodger Invitational Saturday, Sept. 14, at Lincoln Park in Seattle. The Pioneers were led by Conner Jones' time of 18 minutes, 33 seconds on the boys' side, and Amy Murphy's time of 20:29 for the girls.

Taylor Gardner was Nooksack Valley's second boys' runner, with a time of 19:03.41, followed by Zach Harvey at 19:13.72. Calvin Ledet was fourth for the Pioneers at 19:23.04, and Jordan Hem was fifth with a time of 19:31.21. Cole Tiemersma came in at 19:58.77 and Elijah Rohde rounded out Nooksack Valley's top seven at 21:08.23.

For the Pioneers' girls' team, Chloe Gardner was second with a time of 21:17.91, and Kelly Jackson came in at 21:56.73. Jessica Jose was fourth at 22:48.06, with Melanie Brown in fifth at 24:18.52. Maria Cazares was sixth for the Pioneers with a time of 25:43.16.

Nooksack Valley's next meet is against Blaine and Ferndale at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Hovander Park in Ferndale.
