The Blaine girls' soccer team battled through two overtimes to tie with Granite Falls, 0-0, on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Granite Falls.
While both teams did have their opportunities, with the Borderites having six shots on goal and Granite Falls having eight, the defenses were able to keep the game scoreless throughout.
"Both teams had very strong defensive games," Blaine coach Kelly Tuski said in a phone interview. "The ball went back and forth, but with the strong defense, both teams weren't allowed many scoring opportunities."
Blaine keeper Ray Breedlove corralled seven saves in what Tuski said was the most complete game her team has put together yet.
"I thought they did amazing all the way from the back line to the front," she said.
Tuski did add that upcoming practices will be focuses on bringing the offense along so to provide more scoring opportunities.
Blaine (2-1) next plays at Burlington-Edison on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
