Burlington-Edison easily wins meet at Meridian

RaynJoy Norton ran away from the rest of the field and helped Burlington-Edison to an easy win in a Northwest Conference girls' cross country meet between Burlington-Edison, Squalicum and Meridian on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Lake Padden Park. Norton finished the 2.6 mile course in 15 minutes, nine seconds, almost a minute ahead of the next runner.

McKenzie Roque led the way for Meridian, with a third-place finish in 16:45. Rachel Phipps led Squalicum with a time of 19:06.

Tiana Pratt was second for Meridian in 19:42, and Hailey Linville was second for Squalicum with a time of 19:21.

Burlington-Edison won the meet with a score of 18. Squalicum finished second with 52, and Meridian ended with 60.

All three teams will meet again at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Civic Field for the Sehome Invitational.
