Donate blood, learn about preparing for disasters Saturday in Bellingham

BELLINGHAM - People can donate blood and learn about preparing for disasters on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The "Give Life, Give Blood" campaign will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2925 James St.

It is being held during National Preparedness Month.

The blood drive is in honor of the armed forces and veterans.

To schedule an appointment to donate blood during the blood drive, contact Melissa Logan at melissa.logan@redcross.org or at 360-733-3290, ext. 1017.

The event is being put on by the Mt. Baker Chapter of the American Red Cross, the church, and Puget Sound Blood Center.
