Prostate cancer screening focus of Bellingham talk

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDSeptember 7, 2013

BELLINGHAM - Prostate cancer screening will be the focus of a Tuesday, Sept. 10, talk at St. Luke's Community Health Education Center, 3333 Squalicum Parkway.

PeaceHealth St. Joseph Cancer Center is hosting the 6:30 p.m. event to discuss the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommendation against a blood test for men - called a prostate-specific antigen test - who don't have symptoms.

That recommendation has created confusion, and the Tuesday event also is meant to help consumers by presenting viewpoints of various medical providers.

No registration is needed.
