Rave: Writer applauds 'Semele' by Opera Popolare

COURTESY TO THE BELLINGHAM HERALDSeptember 2, 2013

"Semele" - what a treat for Bellingham! Opera Popolare succeeds in bringing opera to the people, but needs help to bring the people to the opera.

This "good parts" production is imaginative in its use of space at Garden Street United Methodist Church. The music and vocals are spot on. Even the acting, often given short shrift in my experience, is excellent. The costuming is period-perfect.

The hard-working production team and cast deserve to have a full house. If you are even curious about what opera is all about, go!
