Whatcom residents sought for transportation committee

Volunteers are needed to apply for three open positions on the Whatcom County Citizens Transportation Advisory Group, which represents county residents in local transportation planning. The group is also the Citizens Advisory Panel for Whatcom Transportation Authority.

Applicants must live in the unincorporated county (not within any city limits) and have an interest in transportation planning. The group meets monthly. Successful applicants will serve four-year terms.

Applications are due by Monday, Sept. 30, after which Executive Jack Louws will choose his three appointments. Applications can be picked up and turned in at the executive's office in the County Courthouse, 311 Grand Ave., Suite 108, Bellingham. People also can request an application by email at smildner@co.whatcom.wa.us.
