Motorcyclist, 57, lands head-first in crash near Blaine


BLAINE - A motorcyclist landed head-first in a crash at the Peace Portal exit Friday afternoon, Aug. 30, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The biker, 57, of Tacoma, crashed his 2006 Harley Davidson on the northbound Interstate 5 off-ramp, at a point where the road turns to the right, said Trooper Mark Francis. The bike and rider went off the road to the left. He flew from the bike and landed on his head in gravel and grass at 2:27 p.m.

The man had a helmet on. An ambulance rushed him to St. Joseph hospital with head injuries. His name had not been released as of Friday evening. Troopers continued to investigate the cause of the crash.
