THE BELLINGHAM HERALDAugust 26, 2013

BELLINGHAM - Kulshan Community Land Trust will hold a public meeting to take questions on a proposed project with three "permanently affordable" homes in Birchwood neighborhood.

The meeting will be 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at Shuksan Middle School, 2717 Alderwood Ave.

Three energy-efficient homes with solar energy would be built on two lots at 2939 Lafayette St. Kulshan has not yet applied to the city for permits.

Households making 80 percent or less of the area's median income would be qualified buyers. The homes would remain affordable through a cap on the appreciation of their value.

For meeting details, call Dean Fearing of Kulshan, 360-671-5600, ext. 106.
