Free early-learning calendars available to help Whatcom County kids get ready for school

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDAugust 26, 2013

United Way has partnered with Boeing to provide free calendars to Whatcom County families to support early literacy and early learning. About 6,000 of the calendars are available to families with children in preschool and kindergarten.

The 12-month calendars are based on the school year. They feature simple ideas for turning everyday activities into learning opportunities for children to help them get ready for school.

The calendars also have suggestions for establishing routines, places to go, and titles of books to check out at the library.

The Kindergarten Readiness Calendars, available in English and Spanish, can be picked up at area schools, libraries and early-learning centers.
